Royal Rumble (1998) was the eleventh annual Royal Rumble. It was presented by MCI's 1-800-COLLECT, and took place on January 18, 1998 at the San Jose Arena in San Jose, California. The main event was a casket match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for the WWF Championship. The main matches on the undercard were the Royal Rumble match, The Legion Of Doom (Hawk and Animal) versus The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, and The Rock versus Ken Shamrock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Survivor Series (1998) was the twelfth annual Survivor Series. It was presented by Nestlé Crunch and took place on November 15, 1998 at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Fourteen matches were scheduled on the event's card, a noticeably higher number than most pay-per-view events because the main focus of the card was a tournament for the vacant WWF Championship titled Deadly Game. It was the first tournament held with the WWF Championship on the line in ten years, the last being at WrestleMania IV. Aside from the tournament, two other championship matches occurred: the first defense of the WWF Women's Championship since it had been reactivated and a triple threat tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship. This event was also the first Survivor Series not to feature the traditional Survivor Series elimination-style tag team match.
SummerSlam (1998) was the eleventh annual SummerSlam and the fourth presented by Stridex. It took place on August 30, 1998 at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. The main event a Singles match for the WWF Championship between Steve Austin and The Undertaker. The main match on the undercard featured a ladder match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship between Triple H and The Rock. Other matches include a hair vs hair match between X-Pac and Jeff Jarrett and a Lion's Den match between Ken Shamrock and Owen Hart.

Their feud began when Nash won a battle royal at World War 3, and earned a title match while Goldberg had an undefeated streak of 173 matches heading into Starrcade. King of the Ring (1998) was the sixth annual King of the Ring. It was presented by Super Soaker and took place on June 28, 1998 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. The main event was a First Blood match featuring Kane vs Steve Austin for the WWF Championship. The other main match was a Hell in a Cell match featuring The Undertaker defeating Mankind. Featured matches on the undercard included the KOTR tournament final between Ken Shamrock and The Rock, with the winner to receive a Tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship between the New Age Outlaws and The New Midnight Express. This event produced the most famous Hell in a Cell match of all time, pitting The Undertaker against Mankind. Less than two minutes into the match, The Undertaker threw Mankind from the top of the 16' high cell through the Spanish announcers table. A few minutes later in the match in another memorable moment, The Undertaker chokeslammed Mankind through the top of the cell.

From 1997 onward, the event was broadcast on pay-per-view. The event was considered to be ECW's flagship supercard. The rights to the event now belong to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

The film is about an amphibious shark-like monster terrorizing an abandoned secret military base and the people who live on the island where it is located.

The theme song for the telenovela was Vivo Por Ella, sung by Andrea Bocelli with a duet by Marta Sanchez. The telenovela has been repeated several times on different channels since its original airing.
Eurovision: Your Country Needs You was a BBC TV show broadcast annually to select the United Kingdom's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest. The show had previously gone under several other names, including Festival of British Popular Songs, Eurovision Song Contest British Final, Great British Song Contest, Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up and Eurovision: Your Decision but was known for most of its history as A Song for Europe. The most recent name and format was adopted in 2009, but since 2011, the UK representation has been selected internally, resulting in Your Country Needs You being suspended.
